A Passion for Insurance: Matthew Butler’s Story

1.) Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

Myself. As cliche as that may seem – before starting at ACIP, I was stuck in a place where there was no growth, no motivation. Being here has resulted in a better home life, a better work life and lifelong friends.

2.) When you are at work, how do you motivate yourself?

I motivate myself by knowing what I’m doing is going to help others on their worst day – when their assets that they have worked their entire lives for are in our hands – it is our job to make sure they are protected in the best way possible.

3.) In terms of success, which accomplishments are you most proud of?

I am proud to see myself grow more as a leader at America’s Choice. I set a goal for myself to become the go-to guy in the agency, and I do feel as if I accomplished that in more ways than I could imagine.

4.) Who are some of your biggest inspirations/motivations?

My family. Recently becoming a dad has truly changed my outlook on coming to work every day. I want to be able to provide a life for my family that I wasn’t afforded, and I have truly been able to do that here.

5.) What do you enjoy the most about working in the insurance industry?

The unpredictable. You truly never know someone’s situations, needs, and wants when it comes to insurance, and having those conversations with each individual – learning with them and from them is a truly great experience.

6.) What is one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to build a career in insurance?

It is going to be a struggle at first. If you soak in every bit of knowledge provided to you, do your homework, and work really hard – the possibilities are endless, and the sky is the limit.
