Over the years, Ben has transformed his career from a Client Service Manager into a pivotal leader in sales, driven by a passion for helping clients and a commitment to fostering an exceptional team culture. Inspired by his parents’ entrepreneurial spirit, he learned the importance of leadership early on. Ben’s journey is marked by significant accomplishments, including breaking sales records and creating an environment where team members thrive and feel fulfilled. His approach to leadership emphasizes trust, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to putting clients’ needs first.

1.) Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

I was inspired to pursue a career in leadership by my parents. Growing up, they were small business owners and watching how they managed the company was a big part of my upbringing. They were great role models when it came to how to manage people and I saw how rewarding it was for them.

2.) In terms of success, which accomplishments are you most proud of?

The success I’m most proud of is helping establish the culture of our team. We have created an environment that people are excited to be apart of and has changed many lives. Our Agency continues to break sales records month after month and I truly believe that is a result of the culture our Agency has established.

3.) What do you enjoy the most about working in the insurance industry?

My favorite part of the insurance industry is problem solving and finding solutions for a customer. This is a continuously evolving industry and it can be very challenging to stay ahead of the game. The insurance market recently has been particularly difficult for customers so it’s very rewarding to be able to help someone find an affordable and thorough solution to protect their assets.

4.) What is one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to build a career in insurance?

Have patience. Insurance is much more complex than people realize when entering the industry. If you’re patient with your learning curve and put in the necessary work, you will be rewarded.

5.) Can you share your journey at America’s Choice Insurance Partners? What motivated you to move into a leadership role, and in your view, what qualities do you believe define a great leader?

I started my career at ACIP in leadership on the service side of the business. I was new to the industry and this was an incredible opportunity to learn the business. Our Account Management team faces an unending amount of questions, concerns and any situation imaginable when it comes to insurance so there’s really no better way to learn. About 2 years ago I moved to the sales side as I really wanted to get more involved in moving the business forward. The two qualities I believe are most important for any leader to have is the trust of their team and work ethic. If you’re team doesn’t trust that you have their best interest in mind then they won’t be bought into your direction and you can never ask them to do something you’re not willing to do yourself.

6.) What do you find most rewarding about working in the insurance industry, and how has that shaped your approach as a leader?

It may seem cliché to say but the most rewarding part about this industry is helping people. Insurance protects what people work very hard to earn and the responsibility we have to protect that is not taken lightly. That philosophy shapes the direction I give my team with every conversation we have with our clients. We truly sell in the best interest of the client.

7.) How do you foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration within your team, especially in a field that can be quite competitive?

I believe that with the right team, competition itself will create teamwork and collaboration. To be successful in sales you have to be competitive to go above and beyond your peers but the best performers recognize the value in learning from each other. No one gets to the top alone so for all of us that have aspirations to achieve bigger and better things, we have to work together to grow and develop.
